Servant of God

As I was spending time in God's Word today and in prayer, He directed me to Psalm 116. Once there, I had an innumerable amount of memories come flooding back into my mind and every one of them were of the greatest woman that I’ve ever known - Carolyn Neal.

Yes, she was my mother, but that is not why she is the greatest woman that I've known. It's because of the amount of love that she had for Jesus Christ and how she lived it out on a daily basis before a lost and dying world. She was a true servant of God, and she reflected His love in such a way that every person that came in contact with her knew that she was different and that she loved God and that she loved them as an individual. She was the personification of “Worship One and Love All.”

She is also the one person in this world that never gave up on me and that always supported my love of music. She believed in me. She is the very reason that I even sing and write songs today. Back in 1997, I had completely quit playing music and she was relentless in telling me – “God wants you to use the musical gifts that He gave you for His glory. Brian, He wants you to sing and to play again. He blessed you, use those gifts for Him.” I’ve heard those words continually in my head – time and time again over the last 18 years.

Over the years, I’ve had my challenges at times, but through it all I’ve had Jesus walking right beside me and my Mom’s spirit living within me. I’ve heard those encouraging words often over the last 18 years of walking with Jesus Christ. At one point after my automobile accident, I truly thought that my days of writing songs, playing music and leading worship were over, but her words kept coming back to me and God’s peace was ever present. Through it all, I’ve kept my servants heart intact - the heart that my mother gave birth to and the heart that Jesus Christ changed and poured His Spirit into. I am His servant, just like my mother was and once again – I am ready to serve and to be used by Him.

Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains. - Psalm 116:16 (NIV)

As I sit here today working on and preparing to release the greatest collection of songs that I’ve ever been associated with – I feel very blessed and humbled. He has bestowed upon me 12 songs that I believe with all of my heart – will impact countless peoples lives around the world by leading them to Jesus’ feet and to His Cross. These songs speak of God’s love, His grace, understanding and goodness. They offer the listener an invitation to come and fellowship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and most of all – they boldly proclaim that He will never leave us or forsake us and that we are never alone. He is always there. They also talk about being a servant and about laying it all on the line for Him and Him alone.

Today, I ask for your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer with all of my heart. Prayer moves the Hand of God and it smashes the head of the enemy. Please pray for me as I diligently work on these songs in effort to make them the best that they can possibly be for Jesus Christ. Please pray for all of the musicians, engineers, studio personnel and the producer that are and that will be working on this album with me. Pray that they would all understand and capture the Spirit within these songs in such a way that His presence will be undeniable to every listener and to them as well. Please pray for my travels – I am home for a few days now and then I will return to Los Angeles, CA to finish up the production and recording of this album. Also, please pray for my wife and I, as I prepare to go back on the road again and to share the love of Jesus Christ with the masses.

Last, but not least – I ask for your support. I firmly believe in the old saying – “We are better together.” In the past, I’ve always hated asking people for help or for financial support, but in this case God has made it clear to me that I am to humble myself and that I am to reach out to friends, family and even people that I don’t know yet and offer them the opportunity to join us on this journey. He told me to offer you and them the opportunity to be a blessing to others and in turn – to receive a blessing back from Him. For as little as $10.00 – you can partner with us and help create something that will impact lives for years and years to come. In turn, at a minimum, you will receive a physical or digital copy of the new album for your donation, but I firmly believe that you will receive so much more from Him. By God’s leading, I am pouring everything that I have – physically and financially into this album and my wife and I are searching for people that would like to be a part of it with us. Will you join us? To learn more about how you can be a part of all of this and/or pre-order a copy of the new album, please visit my website or click one of the GoFundMe links on my Facebook page.

If you have ever had someone that spoke life into you, like my Mom did me, please take a few moments and thank God for them. Maybe you could even send them a message and thank them personally if they are still around. I hope that you have an awesome day and God bless each and every one of you. We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you on the road soon
